Police investigating Laurel area armed robbery of store

Police say they are investigating a robbery of a Laurel area store that occurred late Wednesday night.

According to Laurel Police, around 11:21 p.m. on Wednesday a man armed with an unknown type of handgun went into Shore Stop on North Central Avenue.

The suspect reportedly approached the store employee and demanded cash.

Once the victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the store and fled in an unknown direction. The clerk was uninjured.

The suspect has been described as a 5'08"-5'10" tall man who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white gloves. No further clothing or physical description is available.
