Fire damages home in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Crews from across Sussex County were called to respond to a house fire Wednesday evening in Georgetown.
According to the Georgetown Fire Company, firefighters were called to respond to the blaze that broke out around 6:30 p.m. at a two story home on Shingle Point Road.
Thankfully, no one was injured and no one was living in the home at the time of the fire. It took crews about half an hour to get the blaze under control.
There’s no word yet on what caused the fire or the extent of damages.
