BVSPCA set to open new pet resource center in Kent County
DOVER, Del. – The Brandywine Valley SPCA will be opening it’s first location in Kent County in the city of Dover this summer.
They’re actually going to re-purpose and renovate an old SPCA facility in hopes of revitalizing that area and bringing much needed resources to the local community.
With the renovations the facility will become a pet resource center full of adoption services, veterinary care as well as low cost spay and neuter services.
“There’s different socioeconomic groups that may need low-cost services, that may need vaccines, that may need primary care and sometimes it can be cost prohibitive so to be opening this new center we will be bringing those services to the community and try to help those folks out,” explains Walt Fenstermacher, Director for SPCA Delaware.
Until construction is complete this summer, a portion of the building will be used to house stray animals in Kent County.
