Two Georgetown residents arrested following domestic incident

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Georgetown Police arrested two people on Monday after a domestic incident reportedly led to an assault and discharge of a firearm.

Police were called to Acorn Acres in Georgetown for a domestic complaint in which a firearm was discharged. On arrival it was learned that a verbal argument broke out between two family members, identified as 31-year-old Sheena Hopkins and 30-year-old Tramar Hopkins. The argument quickly turned physical when Sheena hit Tramar across the face. Tramar then reportedly tried to get Sheena to sit down on a couch, leading Sheena to hit him over the head with a glass cup. Tramar sustained a laceration to his head as a result of being hit with the glass cup.

When Sheena walked out of the residence, Tramar grabbed a handgun and followed her outside, firing a shot into the air. The male was then seen discarding the firearm outside of the home before leaving the scene in a vehicle.
