Rec and Parks proposes draft master plan for Mason Dixon Sports Complex
DELMAR, Del. – The Mason Dixon Sports Complex could see some changes concerning safety.
Potential upgrades include expanding and rotating fields to increase spectator safety. It’s part of Wicomico County’s Recreation and Parks draft master plan which is available for the public to review.
Director Steve Miller explains exactly what other changes might look like. “”Public safety by creating an off road parking lot. We feel it would be safer for both pedestrians and foot vehicles that come in and out of the property, so public safety is a big part of it. Secondly, this would be the biggest investment in the recreation facility this was built in the 80s or 90s so it’s an aged facility so this would really enhance the recreation value, adding lights, adding a pickleball court improving the conditions of the fields,” said Steve Miller, the Director of Wicomico Recreation and Parks.
The county is asking for public opinion and you can involved by visiting Wicomico Recreation and Parks website.
