Virginia State Police investigating fatal crash in Tasley

TASLEY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened around 7:21 p.m. Thursday night. Police have identified the victim as 43-year-old Eduardo Marvin Simon-Gabriel of Accomack County.

The crash took place on Route 13/Lankford Highway at Daugherty Road.  Police say  Simon-Gabriel was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier pick up truck, and failed to yield the right of way, as he was trying to cross through the intersection. Simon-Gabriel drove into the path of a tractor trailer, according to police, and the passenger side of his vehicle was hit.

Police say the impact caused both vehicles to run off the roadway, partially ejecting Simon-Gabriel, who was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.
