Pocomoke High School offering free washer, dryer services to students in need

POCOMOKE CITY, Md.-  School official at Pocomoke High School are continuing to provide important resources to their students. Earlier this week officials announced that they would now be offering free use of their washer and dryer for students to wash their clothes. School officials tell 47 that nearly 10% of their students are homeless, and almost 70% of students live in poverty. Which is why they say it’s so important to be able to provide such a critical resource to their students.

“If anything that we put in place meets the needs of even just one student because every single student accounts then we have done our job and it is well worth it,” said Pocomoke High School principal Jenifer Rayne.

Rayne adds that if any student is interested in using the washer and dryer, they can wash their clothes either during their hour lunch break, or after school during their after school academy program.
