Feed a Friend Fund open for donations

SALISBURY, Md. – Together Cafe is launching its Feed a Friend Fund.

It’s a campaign to help feed the local homeless population. This marks the second year Together Cafe is spearheading the initiative. It all started with the cafe helping others out of pocket where they saw a greater need.

We spoke with owner Vicente Hernandez who says this is an effort to encourage humanity and give people choices. He tells us how your donation can help the local community. “The funds get distributed to individual gift cards and that will allocate throughout the weeks. With those funds a person comes in and says “hey, I’m in need, and I don’t have any money,” and we take one of the gift cards that are allocated for that week and then they’re able to pick from the menu,” said Vicente Hernandez, owner of Together Cafe.

The fund will be open until September. Donations can be made at Together Cafe’s store in downtown Salisbury or on their website. All donations will be matched by Azar Eye Institute and Pohanka Salisbury.
