Salisbury man sentenced on charges stemming from 2022 drug investigation
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been sentenced on multiple drug charges.
The investigation began during the spring of 2022, when police began an investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances in Wicomico County. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search and seizure warrant on a residence that was directly associated with Eric Thomas, leading to the recovery of oxycodone, cocaine, and suboxone strips. Additionally, police found cell phones that possessed evidence of CDS distribution.
On May 25th, Thomas was found guilty of possession of suboxone with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of oxycodone. Due to his four prior felony drug convictions, the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a notice of intent to seek subsequent offender penalties against Thomas.
Last week, Thomas was sentenced to 40 years behind bars, and due to his prior convictions, he will be required to serve at least 50% of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
