Second suspect arrested in 2021 Dover homicide
DOVER, Del. – A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a May 2021 fatal shooting.
At around 5:40 p.m. on May 15, 2021, troopers responded to the Uplift Barber Shop in Dover for a reported shooting. It was learned that 23-year-old Javon Jones was a patron in the barbershop when an unknown man walked through the front door of the business and fired multiple shots at Jones, hitting him in the upper torso before fleeing on foot with a second suspect.
Jones was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Through the investigation, Kyree Robinson and Jesean Coverdale were identified as the suspects. Robinson was arrested on April 20, 2022.
On Tuesday, troopers made contact with Coverdale during a traffic stop, discovering that he had an active warrant. He was subsequently arrested and charged with first degree muder and first degree conspiracy. He was held at SCI on an $85,000 cash bond.
