NAACP holds press conference calling for Lisanti’s resignation

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland Chapter of the NAACP held a press conference Friday in an effort to force Harford Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti to resign.

We spoke with the president of the Maryland chapter today who says about ten different groups, plus constituents from Harford and Prince George’s Counties were on hand demanding a resignation.

Lisanti is continuing to hold on to her seat despite being censured and the calls for her resignation. If there is no resignation, we’re told calls will begin to come in for her impeachment or explusion.

“This is not the end of this. We want her to resign. The community folks are saying the same thing, they want her to resign. There’s no place for that kind of language in the state of Maryland,” said Gerald Stansbury, president of the Maryland NAACP.

Lisanti did not attend the session in the House Friday.
