Corbin Library new home for local artists to show off, sell work

CRISFIELD, Md. –  The crab capital is making it easier for artists to sell their work, and be rewarded with tax incentives.

An agreement has been reached between the city’s Arts and Entertainment Project, a non profit that fund raises for the Arts and Entertainment District and the city.

In the agreement, the city and the A and E will be sharing the Corbin Library. This is a big development for local artists because this agreement would give them a primary location to display and sell their art and take advantage of tax incentives.

“It’s so important for local artists to have a space to sell their work. And this achieves that goal, it gives artists a place to call home,” said Jennifer Merritt, arts and entertainment district coordinator.

The memorandum of understanding has been approved by the city council and signed by the mayor, it’s now expected to be signed by the A and E Project, as well.
