Adopt-A-Block Outreach Center project now in Phase 2
SALISBURY, Md.- Emmanuel Church Adopt-A-Block’s future Outreach Center is one step closer to serving the Church Street Community.
Ground was broken on the project back in December. The 5,000 square foot facility will provide a variety of services for residents within walking distance.
Director Mark Thompson says the project has now entered Phase 2 and a big chunk of that is focused on completing their client-choice food pantry.
It’s one he tells 47ABC will be a first for the area. “It means when people come in our center, we’re not just going to give them a bag of something they may not want. We’re going to be able to walk them through our food pantry and allow them to pick out what they want. It’s a unique concept we’re thrilled to bring to Wicomico County and Salisbury,” Thompson said.
Thompson also tells us additional space in the center will be allotted for recreational activities and health services.
Construction is expected to be completed by September.
