Man rescued from Haven Lake in Milford

Officials say that a person was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital after his boat overturned at Haven Lake in Milford on Thursday.

According to Sergeant John McDerby with Delaware Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources Police, around noon a 69-year-old man was found in the water at Haven Lake after his boat capsized.

Officials say that a good Samaritan helped rescue him with a canoe. The man was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated for mild hypothermia.

Officials say that the incident is under investigation. It is currently unknown how the boat overturned. The man reportedly did have a life jacket.
