2023 Pride Film Festival celebrates cinema, creative expression

LEWES, Del.- It’s a celebration of creative expression and unity as the 2023 Pride Film Festival heads to Lewes this weekend.

It’s a collaborative effort between the Rehoboth Beach Film Society and CAMP Rehoboth.

Over the course of two-days, festival goers will experience a variety of films that shed light on the social advancements and challenges of the LGBTQ+ community.

In honor of Pride Month, organizers say it’s also a way to bring more celebrations right here on the Eastern Shore. “It’s time for us to have our own pride celebrations in Sussex County. There’s absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t because this community thrives and co-exists with other communities of people here,” Rehoboth Beach Film Society Director Helen Chamberlin said.

The festival will be held at Cinema Art Theatre and kicks off this Friday, June 9yth at 7:00pm.
