Lack of housing resources for recently incarcerated individuals
GEORGETOWN, Del. – Non-profit Impact Life presented housing resources to soon-to-be-released individuals at Sussex Correctional Institution.
The organization focuses on recovery from substance use disorder and housing. Helping to find jobs, expunge records, and providing case managers and therapists.
Impact Life says housing is lacking in Sussex County. Paul Norris tells 47 ABC once inmates are released, there aren’t many places for them to go, which is why the organization is trying to reach younger Delawareans.
“We’re in the schools educating the youth try to get to them sooner before they go down a certain road, educate them and let them know they’re not alone,” Paul Norris, Harm Reduction Supervisor with Impact Life said.
