Dover man charged in connection to stabbing
DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars following a reported stabbing Friday evening.
At around 5:20 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of South State Street for a report of an unknown altercation. Officers located the victim, a 53-year-old Dover man, suffering from a laceration to his upper body that was caused during an altercation with the suspect.
While speaking with the victim and witnesses at the scene, police determined that the suspect was still nearby. A search of the area led police to find Sean Lucas, who matched the description provided by witnesses. Lucas was taken into custody and found in possession of a box cutter type knife.
The victim was taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment.
Lucas was charged with first degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was held at SCI on a $122,000 cash bail.
