Easton holds off QA late, sweep the Lions this season
EASTON, Md- Behind a game high 16 points from Jaden Copper, the Easton Warriors moved to 9-4 on the year with a 54-46 win over Queen Anne’s. The loss drops the Lions to 6-8 on the year,
It was all Warriors early as Easton jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the first. The Lions would cut that lead to 8 to end the first half. The Warriors had three different players with half highs; Jaden Copper, Lamont Powell and Marquii Thompson; with 7. Nick Dunkerly and Brandon Peoples led the Lions with 4 each.
The second half proved to be a different story. Queen Anne’s would cut the Warrior lead to just 2 to end the third quarter with help from a buzzer beater from Peoples. In the fourth, the Lions would tie the game at 41 with two minutes to play but the last two belonged to Jaden Copper. Copper scored 8 of the teams 10 points to end the game.
Easton will look to continue their hot streak when they travel to North Caroline to take on the Bulldogs next Tuesday. The Lions will try and get back in the win column when they host Cambridge also next Tuesday.
