Worcester County welcomes newest State’s Attorney
SNOW HILL, Md. – In Worcester County, State’s Attorney Kristin Heiser was officially sworn in this afternoon and 47 ABC spoke with her about what she has planned. Heiser who beat Interim State’s Attorney Bill McDermott for the position says she wants to fight for tougher sentences for criminals while also working with law enforcement to maintain the security for all residents in the county.
“We’re going to be working with the sheriffs office and related allied agencies for opioids I’m assigning prosecutors for liaisons for each area of the community because it’s a very large county, very wide county, very different needs depending on the area,” said Heiser.
Heiser also tells us that the first thing on her to do list now that she’s in her new position is to begin rolling out the county’s newest veterans treatment program.
