Families head out to shop Black Friday deals early Friday morning
SALISBURY, Md. – Black Deals have already started at many stores, as early as 5 AM at Kohl’s and 6 AM at Walmart.
“I have nothing specific that I’m looking for but half the fun on black Friday is being out here in line suffering in the cold with your family with some coffee in your hand, so that’s what I’m here for,” says shopper, Ben Cooper.
This is the first time many shoppers are Black Friday shopping after 2 years due to the pandemic, so they had to take advantage of the opportunity. “Well I did some shopping online, but I want to be out again cause we’ve been sitting for years almost and now you have the option to come back – I’m like yeah, I’m coming back,” says shopper, Chantel Armwood.
A lot of shoppers on Delmarva were out early to catch electronic deals. Later we’re going to Best Buy and I’m going to try to get an Oculus Quest 2,” says shopper, Ben Cooper.
But some shoppers say they’re shopping for a profit. “I don’t know I’m just trying to flip something, find it, buy it, sell it for more,” says shopper, Felix Perez.
While others are getting ahead of those Christmas gift lists. “Mhmm, I don’t want nobody to know their Christmas presents (winks),” says Armwood.
Going into year 9 of Black Friday shopping, pro shopper Candice Kinsler says there is a way to shop but this year she’s just having some family fun. “We normally get the papers, but this year we didn’t we’re just kind of winging it this year, just having fun, just spending time with my mom and I get up at 3:30, we live in Longneck, so we start in Salisbury and work our way down to Rehoboth,” says shopper, Candice Kinsler.
Kohl’s had deals starting at 5 AM and Walmart opened at 6 AM.
