DELMAR, Del. – The Wheels That Heal car club is hosting its 18th annual Cruise for a Cause and this year’s beneficiary is Joshua Alton and his family.

Last year, Stephen Decatur graduate, Josh Alton was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Ewing Sarcoma. His cancer started with a tumor in his spine, now leaving him paralyzed, and has spread throughout his body.

That’s why the car club, which benefits families and causes across Delmarva is sponsoring Josh and his family. On Saturday, October 15th, community members are meeting at the Metal Shop in Delmar, DE to register with a donation. In addition, at 11:30 a.m., participants can hop in their car and join the cruise, with a police escort to JoJo’s Family restaurant in Salisbury where a live auction, door prizes, food, and much more will be held.

Which organizer Steve Mixter says, couldn’t be made possible without the support of the community. “I can’t thank the community enough, this community stands behind us so much.” He adds, “We’ve been working on this now since April, we’ve done two shows, we’ve done blessing of the combines, and we did a strawberry festival down in Pittsville, and we have done a total of 10 silent auctions for this event, and Saturday we’re going to wrap it all up and give them a check.”
