Court ruling on ACA will not affect 2019 plans

47 ABC – A Texas federal court’s ruling that the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional will not change anything for this enrollment period contrary to some rumors that have been circulating.

The ruling came 24 hours before open enrollment wrapped up for 2019 plans. Maryland Health Exchange tells us that they expect this decision will be repealed and most likely will go to the Supreme Court, so it will take time before anything comes out of it. if anything at all.

But until then things remain the same.

“The ruling does not have any affect on plans for 2019, so the law of the land still stands and we don’t expect any problems at all with 2019 plans,” explains Michele Eberle, Executive Director for Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.

Open enrollment ended on Saturday in Maryland and Delaware.
