First day of school in Seaford sees new safety protocol for parent drop-off
SEAFORD, Del. – Thursday marked the first day of school for Seaford School District students, and also the first day of a new drop-off protocol for parents looking to enter and exit the building.
The school is keeping its system of only pre-approved adults on a set list being able to pick up and drop off students, but now parents will be asked to present an ID card to security when entering school property.
“When you enter our schools now each school has a visitor management system where adults need to show a license to enter our schools and this is for our safety,” said Seaford School District Superintendent Dr. Cory Miklus.
The school also updated its student parking locations to better address traffic concerns, shifting the student parking to close to the school stadium and away from cross-traffic.
