Dover woman arrested after stabbing on N. Governors Avenue

22-year-old Nykia Jones of Dover has been arrested after reportedly stabbing another woman during a fight Monday morning.

According to The Dover Police Department, around 11:00 AM officers were called the 300 Block of North Governors Avenue. Jones and a 26-year-old woman had apparently started fighting, when Jones used a knife to stab and cut the 26-year-old woman, causing several injuries. The victim reportedly had to undergo emergency surgery for her injuries but police say she is in stable condition at this time.

Jones was arrested after turning herself in at the Dover Police Department the same day. She has been charged with assault, possession of deadly weapon during commission of felony and disorderly conduct. Officials say Jones has been released after posting $40,250 unsecured bond.
