Police: No threat posed to Lockerman Middle School
Officials say rumor was a "complete misunderstanding and misinterpreted information"

Denton, Md. – Officials in Denton are informing the public that a recent rumor being spread about a threat being posed to Lockerman Middle School on the morning of November 2nd has been thoroughly investigated and found to have been based on a “complete misunderstanding and misinterpreted information”.
In Facebook post on the Denton Police Department page the Deputy Chief of Police Lt. George Bacorn says they have been receiving several calls about a threat to the school from earlier in the week. Police would like to assure parents and students that they have complete confidence in the safety of their students.
In that same post Lockerman Middle School Principal Nikki VonDenBosch issued a statement that said:
“Good evening Lockerman Middle School families, this is Nikki VonDenBosch the principal. I would like to clarify a rumor. A student’s assignment was found left behind in a teacher’s classroom with content causing some concern. In an overly cautious manner, administration partnered with local law enforcement to review the content. This incident has been thoroughly investigated and there is absolutely no threat to student safety. Thank you and have a great night.”
