Police: Two juveniles injured in shooting, investigation underway
DOVER, Del. – An investigation is underway after two juveniles were injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Dover.
Just before 9 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Barrister Place for a report of shots fired. Officers found several shell casings behind a home in the 400 block. While police were on the scene, a 12-year-old male and 17-year-old male both arrived at Bayhealth Kent General by private vehicle. The 17-year-old was flown to Christiana Hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower torso, while the 12-year-old, who was shot in the hand, remained in Dover for treatment. Both are expected to survive their injuries.
Police say both victims provided multiple and differing accounts of the incident.
