US Navy Blue Angels on Delmarva

part of their winter visits to prepare for the ocean city air show — which they’re headlining this summer. and yesterday i got the opportunity to meet them — and spoke with two pilots on the team about the upcoming show season. track you see them… sound of blue angel jet flying in track before you hear them. but as soon as you do – your inner kid screams out in joy. the u-s navy blue angels will headline the 2017 ocean city airshow this summer. they stopped at nasa wallops — to plan for the big event — and to get folks on delmarva excited. and this excitement is no different for the men and women who sit in those cockpits. lieutenant brandon hempler – and his co-pilot lieutenant david steppe — fly in blue angel seven. but for lieutenant steppe and lieutenant hempler this upcoming season is particularly special because it’s their first with the blues, in fact lieutenant hempler told me some days he even has to pinch himself to remind him that it’s real i was speechless for a couple minutes after i found out that.. you know i applied for two years and i didn’t make it my first year, but i made it my second year and the feeling is just so special track hempler got the call he made the team — a little over three months ago. he will be the show’s narrator when the air show season starts — and he will also be the pilot giving demonstration rides to 3 civilians at each show site. steppe got his call around the same time. he says finding out he would be a blue – one the best moments in his life. “if you could pick one thing, what’s your favorite part?” i mean just being part of the team. that’s the single word if i had to say, just being part of this team track as excited as they are for the ocean city air show – they both say they’re even more excited for the fans that will pack the beach to watch. as for what hempler thinks will be a crowd favorite – hempler at first – couldn’t say. that’s a good question uhhh track ..but eventually caved. i wou.. ok i’ll say the delta, the delta. when all six airplanes are together that’s a crowd favorite for sure track whether you’re already a fan — or planning to watch this summer’s air show for the first time — it’s safe to say this summer’s big show is one that will take your breath away. sound of blue angel jet flying track julian sadur – 47 abc the ocean city air show will be celebrating it’s 10th anniversary in 2017. the dates are june seventeenth and eighteenth. still to come this morning…we’ll have a look
