Dover man arrested on aggravated menacing charges
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a man on gun and aggravated menacing charges.
At around 8:45 PM, troopers were called to respond to the 200 block of North Governor Boulevard, for a report of a subject threatening people with a firearm.
When police arrived, they learned that 30-year-old Lamar J. Dozier had become engaged in an argument with a 20-year-old female acquaintance, accusing her of stealing his property. Dozier reportedly went to the back yard and returned to the home with a bag containing ammunition and a rifle, then threatened the female and her 23-year-old boyfriend who lives with Dozier at the residence.
Dozier was attempting to exit through the back door when police arrived. A .22 rifle and a box of 9 mm ammunition was found inside the residence.
He was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, two counts of aggravated menacing, and two counts of terroristic threatening. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,000 secured bond.
