Police looking for attempted robbery suspect in Rehoboth

The Delaware State Police say they are investigating an attempted robbery of a 66-year-old woman at her home.
According to the report, the incident happened around 6:30PM on Tuesday when a man knocked on the door of the woman’s home on Truitt Avenue. When the women answered the door, officials say she was confronted by a man who was holding an unknown type of handgun. The woman told officers that the suspect demanded her purse, but when she went to get it, the suspect ran away before she returned to the door. The report notes that it is unknown if the suspect left because they heard the victim’s 34-year-old son, who was also in the home at that time. The woman was not reported to have been injured in this incident.
The suspect was described in the report as a man, 25-30 years of age, 5’04”-5’06” tall, 140-160 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark jacket, grey hooded sweatshirt, and a scarf covering his face at the time of the incident, and was armed with an unknown type handgun.
