Bikers for Autism: Community coming together in OC to raise money for non-profit

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Bikers Without Borders Foundation is partnering with Ocean City businesses to give back to the Autistic Children’s Support Group of Worcester County.

The foundation will host the inaugural ride for autism event on April 23rd in Ocean City. People can register at The Cork Bar that day where they will then be escorted by the Wicomico and Worcester County Sheriff’s Department, as they ride through the back roads of Worcester County.

Afterward, the community can enjoy a block party from noon to 3 p.m., sponsored by The Cork Bar, The Bearded Clam, and Crawl Street Tavern, with live music from The Chest Pains.

We are told all the proceeds raised through registration will go back to supporting those who have autism, as well as their families.

“They have their particular needs that they need to be taken care of as well, so the support and network provides the parent an outlet, some additional resources for them to be able to deal with the day to day requirements that are associated with autism,” James Walsh, the Vice President of Bikers Without Borders Foundation, said.

We are told registration for the ride will go from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The $25 registration fee includes a buffet lunch and there will be silent auctions and raffles during the party.
