Dover woman arrested for third DUI
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested a woman on her third DUI Thursday afternoon.
We’re told just after 1 p.m., officers received a report of a drunk driver in the parking lot of Kent Liquor Mart. On arrival, officers made contact with 51-year-old Karen Townsend in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. Based on her actions and appearance, officers say they believed she was under the influence of alcohol.
Officers tried to conduct field sobriety tests, but Townsend refused. A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw at Bayhealth Kent Campus, leading to the arrest of Townsend.
Townsend was later released after posting a $2,101 cash bond on third offense DUI, driving while suspended/revoked, and no proof of insurance charges.
