Salisbury University wraps up investigation into virtual Black History Month event disruption
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University officials have released an update on a virtual Black History Month celebration that was interrupted with racial slurs and sexually explicit pictures.
Based on their investigation, the Salisbury University Police Department says they believe the individuals responsible for the interruption were not members of the SU community. The department says they have turned over their information to the FBI and are also involving the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office. Organizers of the event have also been given self-reporting instructions so that their data can be added to the FBI’s files.
SU leadership says it “strongly condemns” this behavior and they stand with the campus community.
