Stephen Decatur wins a third consecutive 2A State Wrestling Championship

WALDORF, MD.-  Stephen Decatur defeats  Middletown 30-27 to win the 2022 2A State Wrestling Championship.

Decatur lead Middletown 12-0 early.

Decatur senior Noah Reho earned a decision at the 182 weight class to extend the Decatur lead to 18-10 approaching the halfway point.

But things changed after that,  in the third to last match, the Knights won and led 27-24

Then Decatur had a Massive 126 weight class victory thanks to Sophomore Reid Caimi coming through in sudden victory overtime.

Then the final match, tied at 27,  Junior Logan Intrieri against Middletown’s Jack Camarote to secure the championship.
