UPDATE: Police investigate multiple vehicle accident in Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal accident involving three vehicles in Millsboro, that happened Sunday morning.
According to police, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee failed to stop at the intersection of Millsboro Highway and Lowes Crossing Roads.
The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was a 30-year-old woman from Frankford.
Meanwhile, police say a Dodge Caravan was traveling northbound on Millsboro Highway approaching the intersection of Lowes Crossing Road and Bald Branch Road and that is when it slammed against the Jeep Cherokee.
According to reports, the impact was so strong that a Dodge Ram Pick-up truck that was traveling westbound on Bald Branch Road and stopped at the intersection of Millsboro Highway was struck by the rotated Dodge Caravan.
Police say the Jeep Cherokee was also forced off the east side of the roadway into the grass.
The 30-year-old woman was taken to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries. Her six-year-old daughter who was a passenger in the second row seat was also taken to the hospital; however, the six-year-old girl was pronounced dead.
Police say both the mother and daughter were wearing seat belts.
The 64-year-old driver of the Dodge Caravan and his passenger were taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released with non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor on behalf of either drivers. Millsboro Highway in the area of Lowes Crossing Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

Millsboro Highway between Bradford Road and Daisey Road was closed while investigators examined the scene.
Motorist should expect extended delays in this area and are advised to seek alternate routes of travel.
Investigators have not released the victim’s name(s) or how many cars were involved.
