Nearly $1 million awarded to Milford Housing Development Corporation

DELAWARE – U.S. Senators Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester and U.S. representative Sarah McBride announcing a nearly $1 million grant has been awarded to the Milford Housing Development Corporation to be used in the construction of new homes in Delaware.

The total amount of grant money awarded is $940,000.

The funding, given through a USDA Rural Development assistance program, will support the construction of 24 new, energy-efficient homes for low-income families in rural communities throughout Sussex and Kent Counties.

Over a two-year period, the grant will help the Milford Housing Development Corporation continue its self-help housing program and expand access to affordable homeownership in rural Delaware.

Coons, Rochester and McBride are celebrating the investment, as it helps expand access to affordable living opportunities.
