Police attempting to identify person of interest in Rehoboth Beach shootings

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in two shooting incidents on November 21st.

We’re told the first incident happened shortly after midnight at The Pond Bar and Grill. It was initially reported as subjects fighting in the parking lot, but within two minutes of the first call, troopers were notified that shots were fired. On arrival, they found one male victim that had been shot, but had already left the area in a private vehicle and traveled to Beebe Medical Center for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg. No other victims were located.

Troopers conducted a search of the crime scene, locating 32 shell casings in the parking lot. Two vehicles were hit, as well as the front window of the bar. It was later determined that a round hit a second floor room in the Comfort Inn next door.

At around 12:25 a.m., another call came in regarding shots fired at the Wawa located at 35436 Wolfe Neck Road. In this incident, there were no reported victims, and several empty shell casings were found outside the business in the parking lot.

Through the course of the investigation, the pictured individual has been identified as a person of interest. Troopers are asking anyone who may have information on the identity of the individual or the shooting incidents to contact Detective A. Bluto at 302-752-3864 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
