Cambridge police investigate gunpoint robbery

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) is investigating a gunpoint robbery that occurred on Tuesday evening.

Just before 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 4, officers were contacted by the employer of Mercado Latino, who reported that a victim had been robbed at gun point at 6:42 p.m. on the previous evening in the vicinity of the business.

The victim told officers that he and his wife had arrived at the establishment and parked their vehicle on the side of the building along Perimore Street. The male victim reported that he went inside the store while his wife stayed in the vehicle. While seated in the vehicle, two African American males approached the vehicle, opened the door, and brandished a handgun, pointing it at the female victim before stealing her purse.

The two suspects were last observed fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

The victims and the complainant also reported to police that another female subject was in the same area approximately one week prior. She also reported being approached by two African American males, described as being the same men from the incident on Nov. 3. During this incident, the suspects reportedly displayed a handgun to the female victim before pistol whipping her. Police say there is no further information on the victim, as the incident was never reported to CPD at the time.

Police say there are no additional identifiers on the suspects. Any witnesses or other victims are encouraged to contact the CPD at 410-228-3333 with any information.
