Staging and tents going up for National Folk Festival
SALISBURY, Md. – The National Folk Festival is almost here and if you’ve taken a drive or a stroll around Downtown Salisbury you’ve probably seen some of the changes that are now underway.
We’re just four days away, which means we’re now in the “execution phase”. You can see tents going up, lighting being attached to tents and the staging being set up as well.
All the vertical pieces will be up in the next 24 hours, but organizers say that’s not all.
“You’ll start to see some of the fun things arrive in the next few days. You’ll see music equipment, you’ll see sound equipment, you’ll see food trucks and vendors like that start to arrive, so it’s getting real,” explains Salisbury Mayor Jake Day.
Now because of all that’s happening in and around the downtown area, it’s important to be aware of various road and parking lot closures. There’s also signs going up to help drivers navigate through the city. The closures will be up on the folk festival website and social media accounts.
