Cape Henlopen School District unveils new H.O Brittingham Elementary School

MILTON, Del – In Delaware Cape Henlopen School district officials are getting excited for the upcoming school year after they unveiled their new elementary school to students and families.  The$32 million project was approved as part of a 2016 referendum and took about a year and a half to complete. The new school building features a lot of updates including a brand new state of the art library, classrooms, and much more. Officials also say they’ve added safety features including access control on all doors, and bullet-resistant glass.

“Safety features include a lot more cameras, Doors accessed by card key only, film on glass for safety purposes and overall just more separation from students from buses everything we do we think about safety and we thought about that with the school as well,” said Cape Henlopen School District Superintendent Bob Fulton.

Officials say the school will be ready just in time for the first day of school for students on September 4th.
