UPDATE: One arrested, one still at large in connection to Lewes robbery

Police in Delaware say they have arrested a man in connection to a robbery Tuesday afternoon in Lewes but the other suspect is still at large.

Police arrested 25-year-old John Schaefer  after he was spotted on Coastal Highway in the area of the Rehoboth Beach Canal Bridge.

Schaefer was also found with drug paraphernalia and is now charged with Robbery First Degree, Criminal Mischief, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Malicious Interference with Emergency Communication, Conspiracy Second Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.   

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $64,300.00 secured bond.

However the second suspect, 27-year-old Amber Hoopes still remains at large.

Police in Delaware say they are looking for two people in connection to a robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Lewes.

Troopers responded to the 20000 block of Wil King Road. Police say that a 67-year old man got in an argument with one of his tenants,  25-year-old John Schaefer.

Police say that Schaefer allegedly physically assaulted his landlord, before taking his wallet, money, cell phone, keys, and eye glasses.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated. 

Police say another suspect, 27-year-old Amber Hoopes was present during the incident and fled with Schaefer in the victim's black Cadillac Escalade with the Delaware registration 22607.

They now have active warrants for Robbery First Degree, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and conspiracy among others.
