Millsboro Oyster Fritter Fundraiser
MILLSBORO, Del.– The oyster fritter fundraiser is returning to Millsboro where community members can enjoy a variety of seafood with all proceeds going back to the community.
Treasurer of the Millsboro Lions club David Mitchell says this fundraiser has been a huge hit for the forty years his group has been running it.
“It’s our main fundraiser,” Mitchell said. “Everything we make in her goes back into the boy scouts, the little league the support comes from sales of oyster fritters, crab cakes, and soft crab sandwiches.”
Despite all the hard work that goes into the fryer, oyster fritter chef William Yourman says the feedback he gets makes it all worthwile.
“We got the ingredients right her on the wall,” Yourman said. “I have so many compliments on the way I cook.”
Building relationships with the community– even over a seafood sandwich– is one of the core values of the Lions club.
“It’s great to establish the relationship with the customers,” Mitchell said. “this fundraiser is a great tradition.”
The Lions club fritter shack fundraiser goes until December to help raise money for community projects all over Millsboro.
