City Minute: What’s Happening at Salisbury’s Parks

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s City Minute, WMDT’s John Trout and Mayor Randy Taylor discuss improvements slated for Salisbury’s parks.

Back in August, city officials announced that Salisbury City Park’s pedestrian bridge would be closed temporarily while crews worked to implement renovations. Now, Mayor Randy Taylor says the project is expected to wrap up in the coming days. He also thanked Assistant City Administrator Skip Cox and Project Manager Morgan Usilton for their work in helping bring this project to the finish line.

The City Park is also expected to receive upgraded lighting and additional beautification improvements. Construction is expected to begin this fall, so residents can look forward to some great enhancements to the park.

Improvements are also coming to Lake Street and Waterside Parks. Lake Street Park recently unveiled a new walking trail that loops around the park, along with eight outdoor fitness stations and benches. And, Waterside Park will receive paved parking and a new restroom facility, making the park more accessible and convenient for visitors. That project is expected to be completed toward the end of September, and will be celebrated with a public ribbon cutting.
