Wicomico Septic Employee Charged in Illegal Sewage Dumping

Wicomico County, MD. – A septic employee has been charged with illegally dumping sewage in Wicomico County.

Terry Adrian Handy, Jr., of Eden has been charged with two counts of illegal discharge of a pollutant and two counts of unlawful disposal of sewage following an investigation conducted by state and county agencies. Handy is reported to be a former employee of Price &Son Septic Services, a septic hauling business.

“Dumping sewage into the woods near a residential area is not a temporary solution; it is a crime that puts Marylanders’ health and the environment at risk,” said Attorney General Anthony Brown. “My Office will hold accountable anyone who takes shortcuts instead of following the laws that protect Maryland’s environment.”

In Oct. 2025, officials from the Wicomico County Health Department responded to a property neighboring the company’s office and observed piping from a Price & Son sewage pump truck extending over into the adjacent property. Officials reported that the forested area smelled of sewage, and the ground had soft areas that could not be walked on without sinking into the surface.

Four days later, state officials observed Handy disconnecting a hose from a septic truck and discharging the contents on to the adjacent property.
