Shorebirds falter in late innings as RidgeYaks even series at Perdue Stadium

SALISBURY, Md. – The Delmarva Shorebirds fell 10-3 to the Salem RidgeYaks at Perdue Stadium on Wednesday in Salisbury.

Delmarva watched a 3-1 lead turn into a 7-run deficit during a 7-hit barrage through the 6th and 7th innings that was capped off by a 3-run homer from Salem’s Andrews Opata.

Despite a loss that evens the series at one game apiece, Orioles’ 2026 7th overall pick Eric Booth Jr. remained a source of optimism for fans, notching his second base hit in his second professional appearance. The 18-year-old outfielder batted 2nd in the lineup, finishing the night 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

The Shorebirds and RidgeYaks will face off for round three at Perdue Stadium on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
