DELMARVA – The Blood Bank of Delmarva has declared a blood emergency amid low reserves.

Officials say the blood supply has dropped to less than two days, with donations for last month down 15 percent. All blood types are needed, but officials say donations are especially needed from type A-, B-, and O individuals. Type O is the most critical blood type used in emergency care.
