Blessing of the Combines returns August 1

Salisbury, Md. – A beloved local tradition returns to Snow Hill on Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Snow Hill, families and community members will come together to celebrate local farmers and enjoy a parade, live music, food and family fun at the Blessing of the Combines festival.

Organizers say the festival will feature a petting zoo, car show, hay rides, children’s activities and more. Volunteer and logistics coordinator Jennifer Carmean Finney says there’s something in it for everyone, especially as the festival has grown over the years.

“We can see the reflection of then and now,” she said. “And while the event has grown, it all brings us back together to celebrate farming.”

She said the festival honors farmers and allows visitors to learn about agriculture and even explore combines. She said while the festival celebrates farming and brings those in the agricultural community together, it is also meant to spark curiosity in a new generation.

“It is celebrating the Worcester County families and farms, the industries, and how these combines and these families feed the world, really,” she said.
