MDOT to Resurface University Blvd in Somerset Co. Starting Jun. 16

SOMERSET COUNTY, Md. – The State Highway Administration will begin a resurfacing project on MD 822 (University Boulevard) between US 13 (Ocean Highway) and Backbone Road in Somerset County on Tuesday, Jun. 16.

Officials say the work should be completed by Jun. 30, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect daytime single-lane closures Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as crews begin the milling and resurfacing operations. During work hours, motorists can also expect some detours when entering MD 822 from US 13.

Signs, cones, and flaggers will be in place to safely guide motorists through the work zone, and single lane closures will be in place until the project has been completed. Motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone.
