MD 250 Planting Heritage Trees Across Maryland
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Maryland 250 Commission is making the state a little more green with history as they’re planting heritage trees.
Members of the Dorchester County Women’s Club gathered Monday morning to help plant this little sapling on the grounds of the club building.
The trees are genetic off springs of a Poplar Tree that dates back 250 years to both Maryland and the United States’ founding.
And we caught up with the Maryland 250 Commission Director about planting these heritage trees across the state.
“This is a really important statewide project. And the American 250 commission, is a partner in this project and contributed financially because it was really important to our commissioners,” says Commission Director, Michelle Johnson.
The Maryland 250 Commission is planting one heritage tree in every county across the state.
