Truck Convoy to return in support of Special Olympics of Delaware

HARRINGTON, Del. – A convoy of 200 truck drivers from across the region will roll through the Delaware State Fairgrounds in early October.

The 23rd annual Truck Convoy features a police-escorted, 29-mile scenic ride through Kent County. The group rolls out at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4th. Participants are encouraged to check in starting at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast will be provided.

The Truck Convoy is part of a national initiative that raises funds and awareness for the Special Olympics. The program enriches the lives of thousands of athletes in Delaware through year-round sports training, competitions, and health-related activities.

This year’s event is organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Delaware. Walmart and Perdue are sponsoring the convoy. Other community partners include the City of Harrington, the Delaware Department of Transportation, Delaware Electric Co-Op, the Delaware State Fair, Sysco, and K&R Concessions and Embroidery.
