New road configurations with opening of N. Millsboro bypass
MILLSBORO, Del. – Changes are coming to roadways in Millsboro with the opening of the new bypass. The bypass opened to the public on Friday.
The Delaware Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to new configurations in the area. Officials said the changes would be permanent.
The intersection of Jersey Road at State Route 24 and Hollyville Road will be closed. Jersey Road will be converted to a cul-de-sac at this site. The intersection and connecting portions of State Route 24 and Hollyville Road will be removed. There will no longer be direct access to US 113 from Betts Pond Road. A new ramp for Betts Pond Road will connect the bypass at the signalized intersection.
At that point, drivers can head across the bypass to access US 113 northbound or turn left to access SR 20 and the ramp to US 113 southbound. Turn right onto the new bypass to State Route 24 eastbound.
Officials said the bypass is designed to improve traffic flow and safety by redirecting through-traffic away from local roads.
